Take Nimbus Cloak and Scorch. Nimbus Cloak gives movespeed to walk out of Aatrox's chain, allowing you to ult first. Scorch increases trade damage. Against Aatrox in a favorable lane, build Hextech Rocketbelt to increase ability range, making it easier to extend advantage and reach backline.

How a strong Aatrox player plays

  1. 1

    Level 1 Q to break Bone Plating

    Aatrox uses his range advantage at level 1 to Q you and break Bone Plating, preparing for an all-in later.

  2. 2

    W diagonal snare

    After he snares you with W, he forces you to walk diagonally; without boots, it's hard to escape the range.

  3. 3

    Two spell rotations at 6

    After level 6, he uses first Q rotation to force your W heal, then second rotation after your gray bar disappears to ult and kill.
