Matchup plan

Don't take Ingenious Hunter in runes; the payoff comes too late. Prioritize Bami's Cinder and Ionian Boots of Lucidity early for lane strength. After rushing Thornmail and Warden's Mail, Sett's basic attacks deal almost no damage; only his W does some damage, which is perfectly offset by health potions.

After Malphite gets Warden's Mail, Sett's basic attacks become useless, trades are always favorable, and post-6 Malphite can solo kill with ult. Laning phase is easy to dominate.

How a strong Sett player plays

    Bait Your W Then Counter

    Pro Sett will let you poke him on purpose, then use W to counter when you go for the kill. You'll lose the trade.

    Q Speed Boost to Stick on You

    He'll pop Q to chase and auto you. You can only back off while he chips your health.

  3. 3

    E Pull into W

    He'll pull you with E while you last hit, then follow up with W for full damage. Hard to dodge.
