Matchup plan

Take Grasp of the Undying, Second Wind, and Biscuit Delivery to counter Aatrox's Q poke. This build remains strong even when behind. After completing Gargoyle Stoneplate, you can engage or absorb damage actively, using its active to block burst, then counterattack once Q is off cooldown.

Aatrox vs Olaf · Top lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Olaf is too strong in the early game; Aatrox has to play safe and farm, as fighting head-on can easily backfire.

How a strong Olaf player plays

  1. 1

    Q Slow and Poke

Olaf will frequently use Q to slow you, poking you while you last hit. After picking up his axe, the cooldown is very short, allowing him to constantly pressure you.

  2. 2

    R Ignores CC

When he pops his R, he ignores your Q knock-up and charges straight at you for trades. You can hardly counter it and must back off to avoid fighting.

  3. 3

    W Sustain in Trades

At low HP, he activates W for high attack speed and lifesteal, making him extremely strong in duels. Do not fight him when his W is active.
