Aatrox vs Jax · Top lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Against a Jax of equal skill, Aatrox must play passively. Don't force fights before level 6; back off when his E is up.

How a strong Jax player plays

  1. 1

    Q dodge into E stun

Jax will jump on you during your Q wind-up to dodge it and guarantee his E stun due to your animation lock.

  2. 2

    Level 1 E pressure

Jax will use E at level 1 to zone you away from the minion wave, forcing you out of XP range.

  3. 3

    E to push and proxy

Jax uses E mainly to push the wave; once it crashes into your tower, he will proxy the next wave and recall.
