Matchup plan

Take Fleet Footwork. If pressured, swap secondary to Bone Plating. Once Smolder fully stacks, he deals percent max health true damage. Even if Galio builds MR, he can't survive, so build normally.

Smolder vs Galio · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Galio is immobile; you can poke him from range to stack your passive, and he can't do much. Once fully stacked, your true damage shreds him.

How a strong Galio player plays

  1. 1

    Fully Charged W Dive

When diving, Galio starts with a fully charged W, then combos with AQ1A to burst you. It's especially dangerous when you can't auto attack under tower.

  2. 2

    Q then E Combo

Galio will often use Q then E in lane. If you don't have Tenacity, this combo is easier for him to land.
