Recommended runes: Electrocute, Taste of Blood, Sixth Sense, Treasure Hunter, Manaflow Band, Celerity. Shards: Attack Speed, Move Speed, Scaling Health. Secondary can also take Manaflow Band and Scorch for lane poke. Prioritize Ionian Boots of Lucidity for movespeed and CDR to enhance kiting. Early game, consider Boots + Lost Chapter + Fiendish Codex for more damage than Sorcerer's Shoes rush. Second item prioritize Horizon Focus.

Hwei vs Yasuo · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Hwei vs Yasuo depends on mechanics. If you break his shield and dodge Wind Wall well, you can win, but getting close is dangerous. It's a 50-50 matchup.

How a strong Yasuo player plays

  1. 1

    Wind Wall blocks skills

Good Yasuo players hold Wind Wall to block your E-Q-W, then counterattack after you use key abilities.

  2. 2

E onto minions to gap close

He'll use minions to E onto you for trades; when you're away from minions, he struggles.

  3. 3

    Stack Q for poke

With tornado, he'll look to knock you up; dodge Q or risk getting ulted.
