Matchup plan

Take Ghost if you're winning lane, Teleport if even or behind. Build Liandry's Torment in normal or even/behind games. Third item is usually Rabadon's Deathcap, sometimes second. Hextech Rocketbelt provides mobility and HP for clutch survival.

Hwei vs Veigar · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Hwei has longer range and can constantly pressure Veigar. Dodge his Q and you can freely beat him. Your E is guaranteed to hit when he goes for CS. Without Flash, he's a free kill.

How a strong Veigar player plays

  1. 1

    Q Harass to Lower HP

Pro Veigar will frequently use Q to harass you. After landing consecutive hits, he'll walk up to auto-attack you for trades, lowering your HP to create kill opportunities.

  2. 2

    E Zone to Force Flash

He will use E to trap you, forcing you to Flash or take damage, especially when you're last-hitting cannon minions.

  3. 3

    R Execute at Low HP

When your HP is below half, he will directly ult you with Ignite to secure the kill. Keep your HP healthy.
