Matchup plan

Good runes reduce lane pressure. Adjust based on playstyle. To gap close and kill Syndra, rush Protobelt. For burst build (Electrocute + Protobelt), get Sorc Shoes, then choose based on threat: low threat -> Torch + Cryptbloom, high threat -> Torch + Bloodletter's Curse

Hwei vs Syndra · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Syndra is weak early game. Dodge her Q to trade freely. After level 6, wait for her Q and E before engaging. Overall, it's not hard to suppress her.

How a strong Syndra player plays

  1. 1

Q Harass to Bait Your Spells

A skilled Syndra will frequently poke with Q, waiting for you to waste your spells trading back, then she backs off to drain your mana.

  2. 2

    QE Combo with Jungler

She holds QE to combo with the jungler when you push up. If hit by the stun, you're dead without Flash.

  3. 3

    Push and Pressure After Clearing

After clearing minions with Q, she steps forward during her cooldown window to pressure you, preventing you from farming comfortably.
