Matchup plan

Rune variants

  • Against Akshan, Electrocute is more reliable than Comet; Electrocute deals higher damage and procs consistently, while Comet is easy to dodge. You can also take Aery primary, with Bone Plating and Overgrowth secondary to improve trading.

Hwei vs Akshan · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

You have to play safe early; if he hits E, you lose half HP. Trade only after he uses E; if you miss your skills, you're in trouble. It's hard to win against a same-skill opponent.

How a strong Akshan player plays

  1. 1

    Level 1 E Poke

He takes E at level 1. If you step forward, he'll swing in and chunk you to half HP. Stay under tower early and only soak XP.

  2. 2

    Weak During E Cooldown

After he uses E, he has no counterplay. Trade during his E cooldown, or he'll jump on you.

  3. 3

    Bone Plating Trading

If he has Bone Plating, break it first before trading, or you'll lose the trade. If he doesn't have it, trade more often.
