Akali vs Yasuo · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Akali has strong poke with her range, can dodge Wind Wall with Shroud, and has high kill pressure at level 6, making Yasuo's laning phase very uncomfortable.

Levels 1-3: poke with Q, keep distance, avoid close trades.Laning phase: trade aggressively during Wind Wall cooldown, use Shroud to avoid damage. At level 6, if Yasuo is low, try to kill with R + Ignite.Mid game: roam and use mobility to create advantages.Teamfights: look to flank, use Shroud to avoid key abilities.

How a strong Yasuo player plays

  1. 1

    Bait Wind Wall for trades

Good Yasuo players hold Wind Wall for your Q. Pressure without using Q to force Wind Wall, then trade through his shield.

  2. 2

    E during his E

Your E is guaranteed to hit when he uses his E on a minion. Then use Shroud to land E while invisible—he can't escape even with flash.

  3. 3

    Bait your R

After level 6, if he has tornado and you're low, he will bait your R and turn on you. Use R cautiously.
