Matchup plan

Choose between Horizon Focus and Lich Bane as your second item: pick Lich Bane if the enemy team is squishy and you're ahead, otherwise go Horizon Focus.

Ahri vs Irelia · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Ahri is heavily pressured by Irelia's E; if she gets hit without her ultimate, she must use it to survive. Laning is stressful and requires playing safe.

How a strong Irelia player plays

  1. 1

    E forces your ultimate

Irelia will look to land her E on you. If she does and you don't have R, you're in danger and must use R to survive.

  2. 2

    Freezing without stacks is suspicious

If Irelia freezes the wave without passive stacks, the jungler is likely nearby. Place a ward to confirm.

  3. 3

    Body-blocking wave costs you XP

When Irelia recalls, she may body-block the wave outside tower range, causing you to lose experience upon return.
